Keeping MoneyWorks® up to date ensures you have the latest features, bug fixes, and security improvements. The update process differs slightly depending on whether you use a standalone install or connect to a MoneyWorks Datacentre Server.

Standalone installation (most users)

  1. Open MoneyWorks® and go to Help → Software Updates
  2. MoneyWorks® will check for available updates and show you the latest version
  3. Click Download & Install and follow the prompts
  4. Restart MoneyWorks® when asked
Tip: You can set MoneyWorks® to automatically check for updates. Go to Help → Software Updates and enable daily or weekly checks.

Datacentre Server clients

If you connect to a MoneyWorks Datacentre Server, do not update the client software yourself. The server and all clients must run the same version.

  1. Your Datacentre administrator handles updates via the Updates tab in the MoneyWorks Datacentre Console
  2. Before updating, ensure all users are logged out and no documents are active
  3. Once the server is updated, client software will update automatically on next connection

After updating

If MoneyWorks® behaves unexpectedly after an update, check the Cognito release notes to see what changed, or submit a support ticket.
