Once MoneyWorks® is installed and activated, the next step is creating your company file and configuring the basics for your business.

Create your first company file

  1. Open MoneyWorks® — you'll see the Welcome screen
  2. Click New Document
  3. Choose a template that matches your business type (e.g. General, Retail, Professional Services)
  4. Enter your company name, financial year start date, and base currency
  5. Save the file to a location you'll remember — ideally a cloud-synced folder

Essential first-time settings

  • Company details — go to Setup → Company Details and fill in your trading name, address, and registration number
  • Tax settings — configure your applicable tax rates under Setup → Tax Rates
  • Bank accounts — add your bank accounts under Accounts → Bank Accounts
  • Chart of Accounts — review and customise the default chart of accounts for your industry
